About Me

Previously, I worked in the Computational Linguistics and Cognitive Sciences Lab at San Diego State University, supervised by Prof. Yang Xu, where I explored the relationship between language and pose during speech with transformer models. Our research result has been published at COLING 2022. Supervised by Dr. Preetham Manjunatha and Prof. Sami F. Masria, I also worked at USC SHM Lab to build a Real-time Organization System to locate each book's Position. To achieve preferable results, multiple deep learning algorithms and traditional computer vision techniques have been combined into one processing pipeline; the corresponding paper Vision-based tracking of library bookshelf for inventory management and smart libraries (Preprint) will be published by the end of this year.

Before I came to USC, I graduated with an MS in Statistics degree from Washington University in St. Louis. I have a solid background in Mathematics and Optimization, which helps me understand a model and conduct research. There I conducted multiple interesting Research and Projects about both traditional machine Learning and deep learning. I used optical flow to detect the speed of cells in the blood vessel to identify potential blood stroke patients; the outcome was published in Microvascular Research. I tried to predict the stock market with CNN at Peking University in Beijing, China. I also used a gradient-boosted decision tree to analyze the election results of Tamil Nadu, India, at Washington University in St. Louis.  I even made an online web game with a pose estimation algorithm for education at the University of California, Merced.

During my undergraduate study, I worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in China as an accounting intern and Bank of Communications as an analyst intern.  I haven't made up my mind to become a researcher at that time.
